Image Licensing
Using our
photographs.
Every image on this site was made by Architectural Storytelling and is protected by copyright. Clients receive a license with each project, and anyone else who would like to use an image can license it directly from us.
Who owns the images
Architectural Storytelling, founded by TJ Romero, holds the copyright to every photograph and film we create. When an image appears online or in print, please credit it as Photo: Architectural Storytelling.
What clients receive
Each project includes a license for the uses agreed when it was booked. For a listing, that means marketing and selling the property on the MLS, on listing sites, on your website and social channels, in print and in email.
The license is personal to the client who commissioned the work and to that property. It runs for one year from delivery, or until the property sells, whichever comes first, and we are happy to extend it. Commercial projects follow the terms in their agreement.
Licensing an image
Architects, builders, designers, stagers, brokerages, publications and product partners often want photographs from a project they were part of. Join before the shoot and you can share the commission. After the shoot, listing images are licensed at $75 per image, $225 for three or $350 for five, and the full set at the original package price.
For editorial, product or advertising use, tell us which images, where they will appear and for how long, and we will send a simple quote, usually within one business day.
Email hello@architecturalstorytelling.com or call 720-773-0123.
The client license
This is the same license every client accepts when their media is delivered.
1. What you can do. Use the media to market and sell this property: on the MLS, on listing sites such as Zillow, on your website and social channels, in print, in emails and in your own advertising for this listing. Please credit @architectural.storytelling when you share on social media.
2. What stays with us. Architectural Storytelling keeps the copyright to all media. Your license is personal to you and to this property. It does not transfer to other agents, brokerages, builders, designers, stagers, publications or businesses. If someone else would like to use the work, send them our way and we will take good care of them. Parties who join before the shoot can share the commission. Anyone licensing the media after the shoot pays the original package price.
3. Keeping the work true. Please do not crop out credits, add filters, re-edit or alter the media. If anything needs adjusting, just ask and we will handle it for you.
4. How long it lasts. The license runs for one year from delivery, or until the property sells, whichever comes first. If you need more time, ask and we will extend it.
5. Payment. For online bookings, 50% is due at booking and the balance is due on delivery. Downloads unlock once the balance is paid. For commercial projects, payment follows the terms in your agreement. If payment is not received within 30 days, the license is paused until the balance is settled.
6. Changes and cancellations. If you cancel before the shoot, expenses already incurred plus a 25% cancellation fee apply. Cancellations within two days of the shoot are billed at the full fee plus any expenses.
7. Quality and adjustments. If something is not right, let us know within five business days of delivery and we will make it right.
8. The fine print. You are responsible for any releases needed for people or property shown at your request. You agree to indemnify Architectural Storytelling against claims arising from your use of the media or from materials you provide. This license is governed by Colorado law, and any dispute will be resolved through arbitration in Denver, with the prevailing party entitled to reasonable attorney’s fees. This is not a work-for-hire arrangement, and it does not create an exclusive relationship. If any part of it cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Electronic acceptance is binding.
