The brief

Water Grill commissioned three commercial interiors of the newly finished restaurant ahead of opening day. The rooms were complete: heavy timber beams, old Denver brick, tall factory windows and a raw bar lit like a jewelry case. What the restaurant needed were images that showed all of it at its best before the first guest walked in.

The room around us

The building was anything but still. In the dining room, the new staff was being trained on how to set tables and serve guests. In the kitchen, the aquariums had just been installed and electricians were finishing their last-minute work.

Most of the job happened before the camera came out. We studied the rhythm of the space, planned each frame and waited for the moments when a section of the room would clear. When production day came, it was quick and surgical, three compositions made with patience and timing, almost unnoticeable to the movement swirling around us.

What it gives the restaurant

A set of finished architectural interiors ready for launch: the website, reservations platforms, press and private dining inquiries, all showing the room exactly as the designers intended it.

Opening a restaurant and working against the clock? We photograph restaurants, bars and hotels in Denver on tight pre-opening schedules, and we stay out of the way of the team getting ready.
